360Works Releases ScriptMaster 3, Newly Updated Version of Free Multifunctional FileMaker Plug-In

Latest version of complimentary plug-in contains re-designed user interface, simplified integration, and dynamic text, container and number crunching modules

ATLANTA – 360Works, a leading FileMaker product developer and innovator, today released ScriptMaster 3, the latest version of its popular free FileMaker plug-in. The newly updated general purpose, modular plug-in enables developers to effortlessly manipulate files, perform AES level encrypt and decrypt functions, utilize robust URL and network utilities, and incorporate Web Services, shell scripting and event/script triggering.

Adding on to the versatile XML Web Services and encoding/encryption features found in the previous version, ScriptMaster 3 includes a number new modules designed to integrate tightly with existing FileMaker solutions. Developers can pass in any number of inputs, receive any number of outputs, call FileMaker scripts, and access multiple FileMaker fields and calculations from any module.

The new version includes re-written documentation and makes it easier than ever for developers to get started with ScriptMaster and enhance their FileMaker functionality. Several of the new modules added to ScriptMaster 3 include:

• Validate XML – Performs a syntax check on an XML text to see whether it is well-formed

• URLDecode – Compliments FileMaker's built-in GetAsURLEncoded function

• Crop Image - Crops an image to specified coordinates

• List All Files Recursively - Lists all files in a directory, including subdirectories

• Get File Size - Gets the size, in bytes, of a file on disk

• Get File Modification Date - Gets the date that a file was modified

• Zip File - Creates a .zip archive of a file or directory

• Create AES Secret Key - Generates a secure key that can be used with the next 2 functions

• EncryptAES / DecryptAES - Uses the Rijndael AES encryption algorithm to encrypt data adhering to US Government standards to protect classified information

• Better Random - Handles issues with FileMaker's built-in random number generator

• Popup Menu – Takes a return-separated list of menu choices; returns the user's choice as the function result

• QuickTime Frame Capture - Capture a snapshot from an iSight or any other QuickTime-compatible video input

For the first time, 360Works has equipped its latest version of ScriptMaster with exciting new features and functionality especially created for developers seeking to produce new enterprise, web, GUI, database or console applications. Developers familiar with Groovy and Java can create new expansion modules with little need for detailed knowledge of Groovy or Java programming to use the many free modules contained in ScriptMaster 3.

In addition to the many existing modules that come free with ScriptMaster, 360Works is available to create custom modules suited to specific needs. All 360Works plug-ins are designed to run on Mac OS X (PowerPC and Intel) as well as on Windows and there is never a charge for switching/cross-grading, because the 360Works plug-in package includes both Windows and Mac versions, and the same license keys work on both.
