Hosting file in the fileserver

I have a filemaker server up and running. It is currently hosting some 60 files. I tried adding in a new one but it would not show up on the client when I try to select the file within a script. I have set it to "multiuser(hidden). I could see all the rest of the files which was orginally there (I was not the one who puts up the 60 files) but I could not see my new file. When I try opening it locally on the machine,it says that this file has a network error 10048. Does someone know what is wrong and how do I fix that? Thanks.

Have you tried stopping and, then, restarting the service (under the Windows >Control Panel >Services menu)?

I've found that files will not be recognised by Server unless they are present as/when the service starts up.

The multiuser (hidden) pref hides the file on the network. Change the pref to just multiuser. What they can't see, they can't open manually.

If you are adding a file that will be a part of a solution and not the initial start file then you would use the hidden pref. so that file will have to be opened by the solution automatically.

As for the error, do you have the file in the root folder of the FM server and trying to open it with FM client or server?
