Script not working, once uploaded to server

Featured Replies

I wrote a Filter Script. It does a "perform Find" on an unstored calculated variable. I made a mini interface with conditions, and wrote a script to fill in the find box, and perform the find.

This was working perfectly on my local machine, and I did a few tests on the server before, and thought it was working.

But now that I am live, I noticed the exact same script doesn't work when it is on the server. I checked to see if there were any incompatible functions, but all seem fine.

Has anyone had any "find" and "set field" scripts that stopped working after uploaded to the server? Am I supposed to do something to a script to make sure it works right on the server?

No, it doesn't sound like you've missed anything in particular.

Two things to check:

1) Are you using FM Server 8.0v1? If so, upgrade now. What you describe was a known (major) bug in that version.

2) Are your files free of corruption or indexing damage? The symptom you describe is quite common in damaged files. If you have EVER seen a 'file needs recovering' message, or recovered the file, then this may be your problem. Use FMS9 to take a scheduled backup of the file with verification on and see if it reports any errors.

Hope that helps.
