Ok, how can I use a button. I read the help, added the button in Layout mode, assigned an action, how can I use this button? Help says that I can view the button in Browse or Find Mode.

Once a button has been defined to perform some action, clicking on the button in either Browse mode or Find mode will perform the action linked to the button. Make sure you're in Browse mode and click the button you've defined. Whatever you told that button to do should happen.

The help ommited the fact that you need to have selected View As Form! Without that you can't see the button!

The button will work in either list or form view. FMP 5 introduced table view, which is basically an internaally generated layout so the button won't appear in table view.
