merkaba22 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) I know nothing about this subject, so for give me: can FileMaker client software support "Active directory" such that in a PC environment users can simply open FileMaker and automatically, according to their priviledge set, have password access the solution? If not, is FM Server needed? Where do I start to gain the understanding needed? Edited July 28, 2009 by Guest
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 This is called External Server Authentication. yes it can be done, and, in fact, is a preferred procedure. It does require FileMaker Server. There is a lengthy Tech Brief about this topic on the FMI web site where you can start learning about External Authentication. Steven
