History Letters??

Featured Replies

HI,

I have 2 DB (Patients & Letters), I created a relationship to bring the letters to my Patients DB, now, I can't make a portal with a History of all letters sent to a one patient.

Each patient can have many letters.

Could you help me, please??

Assuming that these letters are standard or form letters, you need a third file. it has 2 fields, the foreign key that matches the primary key in patients and the foreign key that mtches the primary key in letters. THis is called a many to many relationship.

When that is done, define a calc field in the third file equal to the text of the letter. Place that into a portal in the patients file that is linked to the many to many file.

THen you can see the text of any letter in the patient file. Conversely, if you do this the otehr way around, you can see the name of any patient who received one of the form letters in the letetr file.
