Autoenter a specific portal row field by calculation?

Hi -

I have a simple portal with two fields ( and ), sorted by , related to the Parent by .

In the Parent, on the same layout as the portal is displayed, I have two other fields ( and ).

I want to autoenter by calculation the contents of the first portal row date field into . I also want to similarly autoenter the last portal row date into

I know it is (probably) possible to script this (via Go to Portal Row and std. logic from then on ...although I am still working through that solution with no satisfactory result yet) but it seems operator input will be required every time a new record is displayed to transfer the data.

Autoenter specific portal field by calculation?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Just have the autoenter in the portalrow table of the matter and then, use one of the methods suggested here:

A little logical thinking can obviously go a long way! Perhaps I should relabel myself back to "Novice" status
