mcyrulik Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Hello all, I am hoping to get some insight on a weird issue that we are seeing. We recently set up about 15 users in one of our databases. We set them up with a default password, but then require them to change their password on first login. These users all have the same privilege set. Some users are not allowed to change their password. They get the dialog to enter a new password, and when they do and click OK, they just get the change password dialog again. These users are external to our network, and the network they are on is pretty locked down via firewalls, and security, etc. Is there something in the way FileMaker communicates during the change password process that we would need to account for? Again, out of the 15 users we set up, about half have this issue. I am open to any suggestions or thoughts that anyone might have. Thanks, ~Mark
Steven H. Blackwell Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 What are the exact versions of both FileMaker Server and of FileMaker Pro for all these users? There are some know compatibility issues of this type. Steven
mcyrulik Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Server is 9.0.3.325, and the clients are on Filemaker Pro 10.0v1. It's not happening on all the clients, though. Edit: A few of the clients are on FileMaker Pro 8.5 Edited October 2, 2009 by Guest new Info
Steven H. Blackwell Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Update both your server with the x326 patch and the 10 clients to 10.0v3 to see if that address the problem. Steven
mcyrulik Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 I was told by FMI that if I updated my server to the x326 patch, I needed to have all my clients updated to at least that version. Was I mis-informed?
Steven H. Blackwell Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 There is no x326 patch for FMP client that I am aware of at least. Just be sure that if you're running FMP 9 that you're at 9.0v3. If FMP 10, run at 10.0v3. Steven
