Every month FMWebschool releases an exciting FileMaker newsletter to over 9000 FileMaker enthusiasts. This month we are delivering our best newsletter to date. We’ve worked out a deal with the top FileMaker plug-in companies to bring you some amazing bargains. More on this below! We also have 2 great articles for you and 3 unlocked sample files.

Let’s start with the plug-ins. The top plug-in names in the industry have agreed to give our newsletter subscribers some amazing bargains. Every subscriber will receive discounts from 10% - 30% off from different manufactures. One company will be giving a free plug-in to every subscriber and every plug-in company will be giving away a developer license to one of our subscribers as a prize! The total giveaway is worth thousands of dollars! You must subscribe to the newsletter before October 1st to be a part of this giveaway.

While this sounds exciting enough, we’ve also got some great content for you. The October issue contains 2 great articles and an unlocked sample file. As a follow-up to his "Optimizing Your Custom Web Solutions" article (which appeared in our September issue), this month Tim Dietrich will discuss techniques for optimally publishing images stored in container fields using the FileMaker API for PHP. Tim will also share a few tricks for serving up other content as well, including PDF documents and MP3 files.

In the next article Hal Gumbert shows you how you can find data in your database or update fields without a Layout or even a Table Occurrence. It might not seem like a big deal, but this can really reduce the need for creating new windows to collect data when all you'd really like to do is perform a window-less query or set field! Hal shows how this is done with an easy to use plug-in.

The newsletter also includes a great FileMaker sample file submitted by David Burton. Craigslist Hunter is a simple solution that does a search in every main city listed on Craigslist. The user also has the option to send an email that has the "To:" and "Subject:" fields auto- populated via additional web parsing.

If you are a FileMaker enthusiast and you would like to learn how to be a more creative programmer, or if you would like to learn how to market and grow your business - the FMWebschool newsletter is just what you need. We only send our newsletter out once a month. This issue will be released on October 1st - so be sure to subscribe right away.
