CraigH Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Can someone please explain this in plain language? This is from the Filemaker web site: "LDAP Directory Support FileMaker Server 5.5 can register on an LDAP server for easy location by FileMaker Pro 5.5 clients and for tracking from the IT department." Does this mean that we can use, for example, enterprise e-mail systems and log-in information in our FM solutions via LDAP? Thanks.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a method of registering a server, in this instance a FileMker Serevr CPU, in a central directory so that users can find it more easily than having to remember that the server with IP address 12.34.56.78 is the Marketing Department server. Check on the web for further information abou LDAP. HTH Old Advance Man
