New plug-in for FileMaker Pro 10 adds powerful image and movie capture functions on Mac and Windows.

November 16th, 2009, Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands--Troi Automatisering today released Troi Grabber Plug-in 2.2 for FileMaker Pro 10.

What is Troi Grabber Plug-in?

Troi Grabber Plug-in 2.2 is a very powerful tool for grabbing images from a video camera and putting them directly into a FileMaker container field. All from within FileMaker Pro 10 you can:

- preview the image stream from the video input source

- crop pictures to grab only the desired part of the video image

- rotate pictures before grabbing

- grab pictures from a video input source and put them into your FileMaker database

- record a movie from a video input source for a specified number of seconds or until the mouse is clicked and save the movie to a specified file on the hard disk

- get timecodes of a recorded movie; you can get the timecode of the beginning of the movie, of the end of the movie, the timecode at the current point in the movie or the duration of the movie in timecode

Peter Baanen, company president, states: "Today we release the final version of the Troi Grabber Plug-in for Windows. Together with the Mac OS X version FileMaker developers can now easily incorporate video image grabbing into FileMaker Pro 10".

New Features and bug fixes

Troi Grabber Plug-in 2.2 has these new features:

- The Windows version is now out of beta.

- Added an extra imageName parameter to the Grab_OpenImageGrabWindow and Grab_GrabImage functions, which allows specification of a custom image name for the returned grabbed image. This is an optional parameter.

- (Mac OS X) When using the Grab_CropImage function the original image name is now preserved.

- (Mac OS X) Fixed a bug in Grab_OpenImageGrabWindow and Grab_OpenMovieGrabWindow where the Grabber window would open at a random location on the screen.

- (Mac OS X) When using QuickTimeClassic the default name of the returned image is now set to GrabberImage.jpg.

- Several improvements to the example files.

All these features also work in a runtime solution.
