Newbies PG77 Posted November 17, 2009 Newbies Posted November 17, 2009 I have a multi-user, cross platform database. A portion of this database exports PDF files to a shared folder on the network. Exporting and viewing the files works fine. The issue is an inconsistency in the way that OSX and Windows write or don't write PDF files to the shared folder when a PDF file of the same name already exists. In OSX, the new PDF file simply overwrites any existing file of the same name. Windows, on the other hand, won't replace the existing files nor does it report an error. Has anyone had to deal with this issue? I could probably make file names unique by appending a time/date stamp but then I would invariably end up with multiple older PDFs for some records. Any suggestions appreciated.
