Hi, (Im not sure if im in the right forum)

I have two tables

First is Quotes – which has a relationship via Client _ID , and generates Quote_IDs, and Quote_detials

The second table is Costing- it has a relationship to Quotes via Client_ID. I then have a value list that lists Quote_IDs that relate to the Client. When I select the Quote_ID, I then want the Quote_details to be automatically populated in a feild on this table, QouteText . I have created a look up fro Quote_Text to lookup Quote_Details in the Quotes table but it will not work?

Can someone please explain to me how to resolve.

Thanks

dean

Why only the historic value such as price requires actual storage of the present price level ... you need to embrace a more relational way of doing it than the two tables model you suggest.

Now this is an invoicing solution, but structurally shouldn't it differ much from it:

Michael uses here Lookups only for the price, this is however an older way of auto entering a stored value, which mostly are kept as option for legacy purposes:

...says whats in it!
