December 1, 200916 yr Newbies This is a reproducible error. I can create a pristine file and place two SuperContainer webviewers on one layout. When I close the window, it crashes FileMaker. This is reproducible under the following conditions: Client: Windows XP SP3 FMPA 10.0v3 Java 1.6.0_14 (as well as the two previous versions) Server: Latest version of SuperContainer FMSA 10.0v3 Mac OS X 10.5 The crash DOES NOT OCCUR when: --The client is running FMPA 9.0v3 on WinXP SP3 --The client is running FMPA 10.v3 on Mac OS X 10.4.11 --There is only one SC web viewer on the layout I can send the crash logs if this would be helpful. December 1, 200916 yr Thank you for posting this. I have been able to reproduce this issue, and we are now working on a fix. Edited December 1, 200916 yr by Guest
December 2, 200916 yr Update: This is a known issue. This issue is not specific to SuperContainer, this is a problem with all Java applets. Platforms exhibiting problem: * XP * Vista Java versions exhibiting problem: * Java 1.6 (we've tested several different updates, and there is no fix for this in Java 1.6 yet) There are three possible solutions 1. Downgrade to Java 1.5 - http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/5.0_19/index.html 2. Use FM script to either switch to a different layout then close, or minimize the window and then close 3. Use the style=noapplet parameter in the SC URL I'm sorry that I can't provide you with a more complete fix than this! Hopefully Java will release an update to correct this issue soon.
December 2, 200916 yr Author Newbies Thanks! We'll work around it. At least I know why this happens now.
March 3, 201015 yr Hi there, Can i confirm if this is still an issue as i have a eerily similar issue on a Mac running, OSX 10.6.2 FMP 10.0v3 Java Version 1.6.0_16 OSX Server 10.6.2 FMSA 10.0.2.206 SuperContainer 2.74 (waiting to reboot to 2.741) Best wishes Bob Martin
March 3, 201015 yr This is still an issue on Windows (for ALL java applets, not just SuperContainer). What are you experiencing on Mac?
April 6, 201015 yr Author Newbies Just as a followup on this issue, I no longer seem to be experiencing it with Java version 1.6.0_18. I did find that putting the two webviewers on separate tabs of a tab control panel circumvented the problem even with the earlier versions of Java.
