open remote pdf located on mac fm server

pdf files stored on the fms(10) mac server (x.6.2)

PDF inserted into container field from local client(s)

clients can be either mac or win

what syntax should a send event input variable be, in order to open the server based pdf?

Local paths send events, and paths from a win server to external win server send events are no problem, but this one is just not working.
