assinging variables with evaluate

Featured Replies

I'm having some problems assigning variables in a custom function.

Essentially, I have 2 variables ($parameter and $value) that have what the variable name, and value should be.

I'm having problems actually making the new variable with that information.

I've tried Let with Evaluate statements and just Evaluate statements with no success.

Let (

$expression = "$" & $parameter & " = " & $value;

Evaluate ("Let (" & $expression & ";1)")

)

Obviously there is something wrong with the above, but I can't figure out what it is, unless the data doesn't jive together that way?

Thanks

Well, of course within a few moments of posting, I've seemed to figure it out. I decided to try to breakup my $expression variable to this (and it keeps the dataviewer a little cleaner as well).

Let ([

parameter = Trim( GetValue( parameter; i));

value = Trim( GetValue( value; i))];

Evaluate( "Let($" & parameter & "=" & Quote( value) & "; 1 )" )

)
