Experienced on a mac, but novice PC user. Have downloaded SC 2.71 on PC, but when I double-click on any of the .jar files, WinZip opens and tries to extract them. Unable to get past this hurdle to install anything. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you do not have java installed on your computer. You can download an install java from http://java.com/en/ which will allow you to run .jar files.
