ronpalmer2000 Posted April 21, 2001 Posted April 21, 2001 Win98 FMP4.0v1 I have written several solutions using FMP 4.0v1 developer and they have worked perfectly for years both on networks and single user. Recently all the new printer and drivers cause FMP4 to commit a page fault and the solution is usually corrupted. I can substitute an existing printer driver in the Win98 database (example: HP4000 series laser printers using the HP5 driver - this will print perfectly). the problme is that I have hundreds of single users and everytime they buy a new printer, it becomes a problem. Does anyone out there know what is happening and is there a possible fix. Thanks, Lehoni
MpWiedemann Posted April 23, 2001 Posted April 23, 2001 Hi, I have seen this problem many times. You need to update your copy of Filemaker from v1 to v3. You can get the updaters from the Filemaker website. Hope this helps, Martin
ronpalmer2000 Posted April 30, 2001 Author Posted April 30, 2001 I tried updating from FM4.0v1 to FM4.0v2 then to FM4.0v3 I still have the same problem. If I choose one of the new HP printers in print setup (example HP 4100 series Lazerjet or the HP-2200 Ink Jet)and then create a New Record - Filemaker crashes (illegal operation). It will print ok, but will crash when I create a New Record. There is no problem with the old printer drivers. They work OK only the new printers on the market HP, Zerox, Cannon, etc. cause the problem.
