This is a real shortfall in FM, I have a databox in a layout with displays results from a calculation. The data can be various lengths.

I have the mailit plugin which copies the layout and emails it (FM pleae add html email to the next update).

Trouble is layout preview is always A$ so if data is too much I loose some, how the hell do I get round this?

Why does the layout need to be previewed?

This sounds like an issue with the mail.it plug-in, not with FMP generally.

Good point, but the plugin sends what it previews so I'm stuck with that.

FM does have an issue with HTML ad expandable data areas, I understand if your trying to set a layout to print but so many people now just want to email the result and FM makes it really hard to do that. In my case they are insisting on a logo and whole load of other stuff I have to put in the footer plus what ever ends up in the body.

Emails like web pages can be as long as they need to (we all know that) just need to find a way to do this in FM...

I just did some reading up on mail.it 3 plug-in. The option to "send a layout" does indeed require a switch to preview mode, because all that is being sent is a jpeg screen capture of the current page being previewed. This is a limitation caused by the way the plug-in implements sending the layout, not of FMP itself.

Re-reading the instructions in mail.it it may be possible to embed multiple "pages" by entering preview mode and issuing the go to page step before issuing the copy command. But each image is one paper-page in size.

Instead, look at using the rich text email format, or the HTML format.

Lastly, see if there is an alternative plug-in.
