Newbies cadbilbao Posted October 3, 2001 Newbies Share Posted October 3, 2001 Hi! I would like to create an application to visualize drawings related to my items in FM. Does anybody know how to carry it out? Must I program Windows API? Best regards.
David McKee (Protolight)
I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. 1) Do you want to view graphics in a database? 2) Do you want to take data from FMP and then graph the data as a pie or bar chart? 3) Do you want to have graphics drawing tools in browse mode in a filemaker record? 4) Something else... -> 1) To put a graphic in a filemaker db, create a "container" field, and in browse mode click into the field. now either import/insert the graphic, or paste a graphic from the clipboard. (Drag/drop will work too). -> 2) There are tricks to create bar charts from data, solely with FMP, but the most direct way is to use Excel to query FMP via ODBC and have Excel do a chart. -> 3) I can't help you much here, except maybe look at embedding an OLE object in MS Windows into a filemaker container field. -> 4) Do you have more info on what you want to do ???
