March 18, 201015 yr Hi. I need to access my database, running at my work, when I'm at home. The database is shared on my local network by a modem/router. I created an account on DynDNS and everything works ok with that. But I can't access the database. I have a port open on my virtual servers settings on my modem, but still I can't figure out what to do next. At my place I have a copy of filemaker 9. I don't want to access it by the web publisher. Can anyone help me?
March 18, 201015 yr This port you have open... is it 5003? You need to forward "port 5003 TCP" and "port 5003 UDP" (or "port 5003 TCP/UDP") from the router to the internal IP address of the specific server that your FileMaker system is running on. And of course the FileMaker system has to be running when you try to connect. Hope that helps. James
