Newbies Contour Posted March 24, 2010 Newbies Posted March 24, 2010 As many of you know, FM11 solves the flicker problems that have plagued Windows users -- with ONE GLARING EXCEPTION. Portals flash like crazy whenever there is any background color or graphic involved. It is a devastating effect for the user. To clearly test and demonstrate the effects in a variety of portal/layout combinations, I built the attached example file. Of all 16 variations it includes, only white on white lessens the effect. Portal flashing makes FM 11 unusable for my primary application, which involves 72 layouts with portals. It is not practical to redesign them to remove Body Fill Color. The resolution must come from FileMaker in the form of an updated release. From my testing, the flashing is proportional to the area being refreshed and the speed of the PC's graphics card. I will appreciate anyone's confirmation of these results. Thanks. FlashTest.fp7.ZIP
