Frankfurt, Germany - March 31, 2010 - qutic development announces the new version 2.2 of FM-iCal-Connector.

WHAT IS IT:

FM-iCal-Connector is a new powerful solution for FileMaker Pro, Leopard and Snow Leopard, Apples latest Operating System.

With the FM-iCal-Connector FileMaker plug-in, the connectivity of FileMaker solutions on the Mac give you new possibilities to share your iCal events and tasks in an easy way.

Create, get, change or delete calendars, events and tasks directly out of your database. And this works too for calendars hosted by the new iCal-Server or any other CalDav-Server – like Google Calendar.

The plug-in helps you to integrate FileMaker Pro into the new calendar-workflow provided by Apple Inc. with MacOS X 10.5 Leopard. Now, with FM-iCal-Connector, FileMaker is a real calendar team player.

This magic is done without any AppleScript, it is all native Cocoa. There is no need to open iCal-Application itself. And it is really fast.

WHAT IS NEW IN VERSION 2.2

Version 2.2 makes it even easier to integrate FM-iCal-Connector into your own solution. With the ability to turn-off tables or fields in the synchronisation process, there is no need to create these tables or fields in your solution – if you don´t need them.

We also added a new function to get the latest version information of FM-iCal-Connector. Staying up to date was never easier – don´t miss any available update.

And last, but not least, FM-iCal-Connector in version 2.2 is now compatible with FileMaker 11.

LATEST FEATURES IN VERSION 2.0 AND 2.1

First of all version 2.1 now is compatible with FileMaker 10 and include bug fixes and two new features.

The plug-in need to be registered only once on a computer. Next time you start the FileMaker application the registration of the plug-in is done automatically.

The second feature is a query filter for modified events. Now you can fetch only events modified after a given date.

Version 2.0 supports "Automatic Field Mapping" a new functionality which is generating records automatically in FileMaker from iCal queries - there is no need to use the xml stuff, if you don´t like it ;-)

Automatic Field Mapping is using "Convention over Configuration". It means that FM-iCal-Connector has sensible defaults for every table and field. Following the conventions the plug-in is doing the magic for you without writing any line of script code. If you need to overwrite the conventions FM-iCal-Connector makes that easy. You can use the table- or field-names of your current solution by overwriting the defaults.

If you want to begin from scratch the plug-in can create the basic tables and fields for you automatically.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirement is FileMaker Pro 8.5 and MacOS X 10.5. The plug-in is a universal binary and runs on Intel- and PowerPC- based Mac computer. FileMaker 11 is fully supported.
