May 12, 201015 yr Newbies Our Mac Xserve hosts our FileMaker pro 9 Server Databases. The Server was rebooted after an error message stating "the startup disk memory was full." After rebooting the FMS window opens with "Searching for FMS 9 Updates," but it never stops searching. The progress bar immediately moved to the 100% mark and begins flashing. The FMS dows not start and the databases are not available from the client workstations. I need to know what is wrong and how to fix it. Thanks, Jim
May 13, 201015 yr "the startup disk memory was full." Check that error again: startup disks don't have memory. If the startup disk is full (and it may be) then you need to free up some space. Keep a minimum of 10% empty.
May 13, 201015 yr Author Newbies You were absolutely right. The HD was full. As soon as I cleared some space and rebooted FileMaker started normally. Thanks very much!
May 13, 201015 yr Your server is not configured correctly. The startup disk should [color:red]never become full. Steven
