Newbies jmberry Posted May 12, 2010 Newbies Posted May 12, 2010 Our Mac Xserve hosts our FileMaker pro 9 Server Databases. The Server was rebooted after an error message stating "the startup disk memory was full." After rebooting the FMS window opens with "Searching for FMS 9 Updates," but it never stops searching. The progress bar immediately moved to the 100% mark and begins flashing. The FMS dows not start and the databases are not available from the client workstations. I need to know what is wrong and how to fix it. Thanks, Jim
Vaughan Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 "the startup disk memory was full." Check that error again: startup disks don't have memory. If the startup disk is full (and it may be) then you need to free up some space. Keep a minimum of 10% empty.
Newbies jmberry Posted May 13, 2010 Author Newbies Posted May 13, 2010 You were absolutely right. The HD was full. As soon as I cleared some space and rebooted FileMaker started normally. Thanks very much!
Steven H. Blackwell Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Your server is not configured correctly. The startup disk should [color:red]never become full. Steven
