May 1, 200025 yr Newbies There may be a glitch in FMP Developer 5 in Kiosk mode on the Macintosh. If you open a sample file in kiosk mode which does not have a QUIT button and you must use "Force Quit" (option-command-escape) to exit the program, upon trying to open any FMP 5 file afterwards, the folowing message appears, "Maximum users reached...." You will not be able to open any FMP 5 files until you reboot the computer. I did this on a single user Power Mac OS 8.6. Note, kiosk files with a QUIT button do not cause this problem. If anyone has a similar experience or knows what is happening, I'd like to know. Happy FileMaking....
May 2, 200025 yr Hello, I also have had this problem with FMPRO 5; not upgraded to the v.03 yet. I think that a force quit does not erase the serial number check right. After a new startup the problem is solved, but it is an awful solution

May 3, 200025 yr Newbies I once found an article in FMPro's support site mentioning this issue. (Couldn't find the article right now) There is currently no solution for the problem other than a restart or letting it time out. The 5.0v3 Updater does not solve the problem either. Best of luck
May 1, 200421 yr Why not just script a button to shutdown the database? Using a force quit to close a database isn't considered part of standard database design, so I find it difficult to call this a "bug".
