I want to create Database which will be delivered on CD-ROM. Can I integrate Web-Links into FileMaker? The browser has to open and show the URL.

I have done this on FM 5.0

to do this you will have to make a script

select Open URL in the scripts menu

Select No Dialog and in Specify select Text and enter in the URL (http://www.whatever.com)

it will look like this

Open URL(No Dialog, "http://www.whatever.com")

now make a text box or a button, type in your URL or anything there and then link this to your script

click on the button, browser will open and you will be transported to the website...

only problem

the browser has to be located on C drive

universities usually have browsers on G drive

the weblink button will still work but if the browser is on a drive other than C then you will have to open up the browser before clicking the weblink button
