jcoconnor Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Here's what I need to get FM to do through a web site: 1) Client creates an account on the web that is verified through email 2) Once every 24 hrs, client may log in. 2a) FM accesses Acrobat file (Using PDF Manipulator plug-in) to put a serial number into 15 different PDFs and creates 15 new PDFs that are locked down and then pushed to the client either directly, or emailed to the client. 3) 24 hours later the customized PDFs are deleted from the server. OK, so my main hosting service (MacHighway) would handle the html files with Lasso calls and the base versions of the PDFs. The FM hosting service (Digital Forest) would handle the FM 10 db and has Lasso 8.5 running on their servers. My questions: A) Where can Acrobat (needed for PDF Manipulator) fit in? - No, I can't use the PDF feature of FM 10 because the container won't hold a graphic with the proper dpi output, otherwise I'd build the serial-numbered graphic on the fly in FM and out put the PDF. The only way to get the results I want is have the Graphic in PDF format with a form field to insert the serial number using PDFManipulator. Where do I put the plug-ins (PDFManipulator and TroiFile)? -I have yet to check with Digital Forest. C) Once I create the custom-serialized PDFs how do I automate emailing them to the client or pushing them to the client's computer? -I also want to give a URL to the client so they can download the files themselves incase the email and/or push doesn't work for some reason, so I'd save the path names of each file and use this for question (D) below... D) How do I set a timer to delete the customized files after a 24 hour period? -Install on Timer Script function doesn't work with web publishing. Would use TroiFile plugin. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jim
jcoconnor Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Well, many views, but no answers. However, figured it out myself. In case you're wondering, I found the Lasso now supports creating, opening, editing, and pushing/serving PDFs. I'll be able to open a PDF from the server, add the serial number then save as a new PDF locking it, and then either give URL for the file or push it directly. Still working on the deleting the file later. Jim
