June 11, 201015 yr We have a system that opens up another window with a SuperContainer web viewer on it. There are two buttons, one that save the record and closes the window, and another that simply closes the window. On windows 7 using FileMaker 11 that close window step causes FileMaker to crash. We have tested this, and it only happens on layouts where there is a SuperContainer web viewer on the layout, and it only happens on windows 7 with FileMaker 11. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Our SuperContainer server is at version 2.746.
June 11, 201015 yr There is a known issue with java applets running in the web viewer in FileMaker. Unfortunately, this is something that affects ALL java applets in web viewers. This error usually crops up if you have more than one web viewer, but could happen with only one on the layout. What is happening is that FileMaker is crashing because java is taking too long to quit when you close the window with the web viewer. If you java takes too long to exit, FileMaker has a problem and crashes. You can correct this through two methods: A) Change to a different layout without web viewers before closing the window or Uncheck "Use the next generation java plugin" in your Java advanced preferences in the Java control panel (accessed through the windows control panel)
