June 20, 201015 yr Newbies Hello, I must preface this post with a warning that I am brand new to the world of filemaker. I work for a company doing bail bonds and am trying to find a simple way to create layouts for our bond forms. The bonds are usually provided to us in word format from the city or county. I'm wondering if there is a way to import the content from the word document into a new layout and preserve the formatting so I can simply add editable fields wherever they are necessary. I poked around a bit on the forums and can't find a topic related to this. I may not be searching for the correct terminology as I'm very new to this.
June 20, 201015 yr Not really. The quickest way is to reproduce the forms on the layout using FMP-native text and lines. Despite what is said, it won't matter if the form is a little bit different. Yes you can print the Word doc to pdf and paste the pdf ono the layout, then over-lay the fields etc, but it'll take about as much time as doing it using native elements, and it'll be harder to change.
