I'm running FileMaker Server Advanced on a dedicated Mac server. I'm trying to decide between installing as a standalone server app and option 2 installing with FMSA. What are the advantages/disadvantages?

Installing stand-alone on a mac gives you access to previews pdf, psd, ai, and a few other formats. Stand-alone operates on port 8020 by default, and requires that a user be logged in to launch the application (you can do this as auto-login and a startup item, of course).

Installing with FMS does not require a user to log in or an application be launched, but you will not have access to the pdf, psd, or ai previews. SC on FMS runs on port 80, so you will not need to specify a port when accessing the URL.
