Refresh speed low

Is it normal for a layout viewed in Table mode to be refreshed in very low speeds just because one column contains radio buttons?

Are radio buttons so burdensome?

I've even found that replacing the radio buttons with a calculated container field and a script run by clicking on it, I get the same effect of toggling the field between 0-1, with faster redraw, less possibility for errors and better user feeling (icon is obvious)!!!
