Consulting using DSL/Cable vs Satellite?

Hello,

I have always done filemaker consulting using a dedicated dsl/cable internet connection. However, we are looking at buying a house where only satellite is available. I hate to say this is becoming a deal breaker for me but I need to be able to work.

Does anyone have any experience doing remote filemaker work with a satellite connection? How does the speed compare? Does it cut out in storms, etc. I also live in NH where the weather can be rather inclement.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
