Archiving Records: FMP 7/8/9 vs FMP 10/11

I need to be able to archive individual records and (on occasion) groups of records from more than 30 tables in a file that has been in use now for 5+ years. I have read the threads on this forum and others on the subject of “archiving records”, and they give some very good insights, but they are mostly from past years when the development standard was FMP 7, 8, or 9. Are there any good resources/example files/papers/articles/etc that might address archiving design and development in the context of FMP 10 and/or FMP 11? Any general or specific recommendations will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! lpm

BTW: The reason I posted to this forum? The earlier threads generally approached archiving via scripting solutions and clustered within five design strategies: 1) Importing records into “archive” tables within a file,; 2) Importing/Exporting records into “archive tables” in an external file; 3) Setting Fields into “archive tables” within a file; 4) Setting Fields into “archive tables” in an external “archive file”; 5) Flagging “active/inactive” records within a file.

FMP 10 is FMP 9 + script triggers (plus some other changes). The scripting methods you describe above would not have changed and would still be suitable.

It may now be possible in FMP 10 to use a script trigger to initiate the archive process, rather than a button click, but that's really a trivial issue.
