Newbies Dataguy99 Posted September 13, 2010 Newbies Posted September 13, 2010 We are having issues with the SuperContainerCompanion Plugin that you may be able to direct me how to fix. This just recently started happening. We have the script copied from the example file and use the AutoUpdate to make sure the latest version of the plugin is installed. I don't know if the OS or virus software or what is interfering with the plugin, but numerous users are not able to have their plugins enabled after it is installed. I have manually removed the plugin from the Documents and Settings path to the Program Files path and visa versa with no change. I have had them reinstall FileMaker and then try it. They are able to use FileMaker fine, but not able to use the Download or Upload scripts we have set up in FileMaker to get or send files. (They can use the web pages for the same thing, so it hasn't been a great issue, just an inconvenience.) Most users with issues are using XP Service Pack 3. The plugin shows up in the preferences but it cannot be enabled. I have checked and it appears the plugin is in the correct folder. I'm wondering if it's a Symantic or OS change that is causing this. Any info you have heard we'd surely like to know. Thanks.
Smef Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) Are you getting any error messages when you try to enable the plugin? Which version of the plugin are you installing? It should show which version is installed when you highlight it in the plugins > preferences list. Make sure that you do not have plugins in two locations. Autoupdate installs plugins to your users/local/appdata/FileMaker/ directory, while your manual installs are going to Filemaker/extensions/. Make sure that you have Java installed on these machines. Windows does not come with Java pre-installed, so you will need to install it manually on your machines. I recommend using the latest Java, which is 6_21. Do you have any other plugins installed? Older versions of other plugins may be causing interference. Try removing other plugins and se if this allows you to enable the SuperContainer companion plugin. Check and post your logs here, if you can. Logs can be found at Users/username/documents/360Plugin Logs. Edited September 14, 2010 by Guest
Newbies Dataguy99 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Newbies Posted September 14, 2010 Okay, thanks for the info. I failed to mention that the Java was up-to-date. And, yes, clicking on the plugin name on the Plugin tab of the Preferences shows the version (2.76) but it says it can't be enabled. One of our users just emailed that she threw away some temp files and it is now working. I am going to find out where these temp files are she discarded and recommend this to the other users. Thanks again.
