Specify Current FM Field in Oracle Where Clause

I can connect to Oracle8 and retrieve records into FM5. But I would like to be

able to retrieve only one row from the Oracle database based on the current field in the current record in FileMaker. How do I specify the current FM-field in the Oracle-Select Where-clause? I have tried the usuall "... where name = :FM_NAME" but no luck. THANKS
