didjeridude Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 A few weeks ago, my MacBook Pro refused to boot. What transpired is unimportant, but the problem was resolved by installing a clone of the hard drive. No data was lost and I was able to bring things up to date with the periodic backups. However, since that time, the drag & drop feature of SC does not work. Everything displays properly and ends up where it's supposed to. I can retrieve everything properly. But, I have to use the upload button to add anything, and that becomes somewhat annoying when I need to change the contents because I have to delete and then drill down again to the file. Is there a plist somewhere I need to trash or a setting or parameter I need to change? It still works, but it's not nearly as efficient as it was. Thanks.
didjeridude Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 I've been pondering the problem and came to the conclusion it was probably a Java thing. I have noticed another application with a similar problem that employs a Java applet from the server. No one else has had the problem, so it has to be something with my MBP and the restored clone. So, figuring nothing to lose, I downloaded the Java release from May (which I had installed), and re-installed it. Both applications now work as they should, and I'm most happy about SC being back to normal. Thanks to everyone who gave it some thought, but you don't have to anymore. Have a nice weekend!
