Newbies Jeremy83 Posted October 14, 2010 Newbies Posted October 14, 2010 Hi everyone! Apologies in advanced if the question has been posted before. I tried the search and couldn't find anything useful. Anyways, I have tried to set up the SuperContainer in my server. One of the steps is to set up the path of the SuperContainer Server which is http://serveraddress:8080/360SuperContainer/Files by default. When I run it locally, which means I put the local IP address of the server as the server address, it runs smoothly. However, when I try to access the SuperContainer from an external network through its external address I get a message showing a "Custom Error" message. Is there any wrong in my configuration? How do I get it to work if I want to access it from locations other than my office? And lastly, will it work if I use a dynamic dns service such as www.dyndns.org? Thanks in advance!
Smef Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Yes, SuperContainer will work with Public IP addresses and DynDNS. Most likely this is an issue of port forwarding and network configuration. If your server has an internal IP address you will need to forward the ports used by SuperContianer (80 w/ FMS, 8020 stand-alone, 8080 tomcat) to the internal address of your SuperContainer server machine. You will also want to assign a fixed IP address to the machine inside your network so that the IP address doesn't change and your port forwarding will continue to work.
Newbies Jeremy83 Posted October 15, 2010 Author Newbies Posted October 15, 2010 Awesome...it works perfectly! Thanks a million. Jeremy
