I'm working (in Mac) on a cross-platform dictionary with links to audio files for each headword. Does anyone know whether MP3 files linked to container fields are supported in Windows (of what stripe)? What is the Windows equivalent of Quicktime that runs audio files, and is it freeware, and is it supportable in a wide range of Windows versions? Cheers.

Have you tried using QuickTime for Windows? Perhaps that would work.
