External File Erratic Bug - "file Missing" 1/10 Times When File Is There...

About every one out of 10 times my database can't find the external file (which has not been renamed or moved in any way) and displays <file missing> in fields.

The startup script relies on finding the external file so I wonder if that might be the issue. However, 9/10 times it all works beautifully and the interface opens with all the fields populating from external file.

It seems to have to do also with whether the exernal file is already opened or not.

I am testing this on my computer (not hosted) and the end files will all be hosted.

I am not familiar enough with external file behavior to know what is going on... Any thoughts?
