Plastic As Server Side Plugin?

Does the Plastic plugin work as a server-side plugin? I have a client that wants to use iPads as POS systems and authorize payments from the iPads via authorize.net. Since FileMaker Go doesn't support plugins, we'd have to use Plastic on the server. Is this possible, or do I have to tell the client it's not possible?

Thanks,

Steve McI

All of our plugins work fine on FileMaker server, but putting the plugin on the server will not make it work on the iPad. A server-side plugin is for use with server scheduled scripts or IWP only. FileMaker Pro and FileMaker go handle all calculations on the client even if the database is hosted on the server, and all plugins are executed on the client side (and don't work at all on FMGo).

You could have your users enter data in filemaker go and then have a server scheduled script handle the credit card processing every minute or however often you needed it to run.
