Newbies Bdidi Posted November 21, 2000 Newbies Posted November 21, 2000 Has anyone (besides me) encountered problems with the Import Picture command, specifically an error dialog reporting that Claris XTND system did not initialize? I've replaced the XTND components with fresh copies from another machine, but the problem persists (which is a real pain, since one of the things I'm trying to do is build a file containing 750 student photos).
Vaughan Posted November 22, 2000 Posted November 22, 2000 Make sure you are running the latest patch level of FMP. http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/index.html#updaters
Newbies Bdidi Posted November 23, 2000 Author Newbies Posted November 23, 2000 Vaughan, thanks, but I already have the patch up to 4.0v3. Other suggestions?
Vaughan Posted November 23, 2000 Posted November 23, 2000 You said you "replaced the XTND components with fresh copies from another machine..." I'd do a reinstall and re-patch, rather than just copy files across from another machine, *especially* on Windows machines. There's so many ini files around that might not get updated.
Newbies brianm Posted December 18, 2000 Newbies Posted December 18, 2000 Did you ever find out what the solution was to this problem? I am having the same problem myself. I'm running Mac OS 9 and FileMaker 4.0v3. I tried doing a custom reinstall of the Graphic translator (the Claris XTND System), but that didn't solve the problem. thanks. Brian.
Newbies Bdidi Posted December 19, 2000 Author Newbies Posted December 19, 2000 Sorry I took so long getting back to this forum -life got a little hectic. The problem was a missing library - XTND Power Enabler. For some reason, this is not with the installer I have. Popped into the Extensions folder and hey presto.
