Problem with Import Picture and XTND

Featured Replies

Has anyone (besides me) encountered problems with the Import Picture command, specifically an error dialog reporting that Claris XTND system did not initialize?

I've replaced the XTND components with fresh copies from another machine, but the problem persists (which is a real pain, since one of the things I'm trying to do is build a file containing 750 student photos).

Vaughan, thanks, but I already have the patch up to 4.0v3. Other suggestions?

You said you "replaced the XTND components with fresh copies from another machine..."

I'd do a reinstall and re-patch, rather than just copy files across from another machine, *especially* on Windows machines. There's so many ini files around that might not get updated.

Did you ever find out what the solution was to this problem? I am having the same problem myself. I'm running Mac OS 9 and FileMaker 4.0v3. I tried doing a custom reinstall of the Graphic translator (the Claris XTND System), but that didn't solve the problem.

thanks.

Brian.

Sorry I took so long getting back to this forum -life got a little hectic.

The problem was a missing library - XTND Power Enabler. For some reason, this is not with the installer I have. Popped into the Extensions folder and hey presto. laugh.gif
