we are running fmpro server 3.0 over a network with fmpro 4.0 (for the most part) on the user end.

I've not had many problems with the setup until recently, where one client on a brand new dvd IMac using OS 9.04 is getting and error message "error in file "unknown"" when she is omiting records. It does it rather randomly with no specific rhyme or reason other than that.

the error message says "sorry, filemaker is unable to read the disk this file is on. click continue to try again or click quit and copy this file to another disk."

where it won't let you continue so you have to quit.

We haven't had that problem with any of the other macs/IMacs we have running here, and she never had the problem with her old mac or her new one until a few days ago.

ideas/answers/resources for answers are welcomed.

thanks

Usual comments... make sure the server app and *all* the client applications are the latest patch level -- 4.0v3 for instance.

Other than that, make sure your system is backed up, it may be a sign form the Gods.
