What exactly does idle mean?

As part of the Privilege Set settings, you can 'Disconnect user from FileMaker Server when idle' , which is in conjunction with the 'set maximum idle time allowed' setting in the FM Server Admin Console.

What exactly does FileMaker consider to be "idle"?? I've never seen any detailed answer to this.

When a FMP client is running an OnTimer Script every X seconds, is that considered idle? Apparently so, as I've got a client that is being disconnected after the idle time as defined in the server console settings, even though a field and variable is being set every 30 seconds under the OnTimer Script step. I would have thought that would have been *not* idle.

Thanks for any input concerning this matter.
