Help! I get "Sorry, Filemaker is unable to continue printing (-98)" when I try to print on my hp deskwriter.

I'm using a Filemaker Pro 3.0 v2 and G3 Mac Powerbook with system 8.5 and DW series 6.0.3 printer driver selected in chooser with appletalk off. I've got printer port selected although the laptop has a combo printer/modem port. I can print from my powerbook 180 with same printer driver and system 7.5.

Maybe the spooling is out of space on the hard disk. Trash some big files, defragment and retry.

If it doesn't work, reinstall the DW driver. Zap the Pram (cde-alt-P-R at startup), wait the mac rings one or two times, then release the keys. Reselect the printer in the chooser.

Try it, if it doesn't work, repost me a message.

Update your version of filemaker to 3.0v5. It's free.

ftp://ftp3.filemaker.com/pub/USA-Macintosh/Updaters/FileMakerPro3.0v5Updater.bin

Older versions had a lot of printing problems.
