Can Scribe return the page number of a string of text found in a pdf document? Can it do the same for text in a Word document?

No, this is not a feature of scribe, unfortunately. Scribe does not have the ability to search documents directly itself. What you can do is import the text into your filemaker solution and then use filemaker to perform the search on your document for the presence of text.
