RNB-IT Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I have installed the demo version on my server OSX and works well, Expect it would not make appropriate Thumbnails folders. It creates the File and according folder but not the thumbnails folders. the permission are for the forlders set tot fmserver:fmsadmin with 775. In the filemaker remote app we see the file only by icon. It's uploaaded correctly.

RNB-IT Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Would like to help, need a tad more info, your post no sense is making. Vincent The SuperCotainer makes folders for the files, when uploaded. in: /Users/Shared/SuperContainer/Files/360Demo/1/"Myfile" and for each revision: /Users/Shared/SuperContainer/Files/360Demo/1/revision1/"Myfile" but it should also make: /Users/Shared/SuperContainer/thumbnails/360Demo/1/147x860/"Myfile" /Users/Shared/SuperContainer/thumbnails/360Demo/1/revision1/147x860/"Myfile" that is the problem, it does not make the folders and files 360Demo/1/147x860/"Myfile" (and a few more) in the parent directory /Users/Shared/SuperContainer/thumbnails/
Smef Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 SuperContainer will only generate previews for files that are previewable, not for all files. SuperContainer can make preview images of jpg, gif, and png images. If you run SuperContainer in stand-alone mode on a mac computer it can also make previews of .pdf, .ai, .psd, and a few other image types. What kind of files are you not seeing previews of, and which deployment option are you using? Can you post your SuperContainer URL you are using? Also, I do not recommend using quotes in your URL (though that may just be for an example) and remember that the 360Demo path is just what is used by our demo file. You do not need to use that in your actual database.
RNB-IT Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 I use the SuperContainer on an server, and i was adding a .pdf file. So now it's clear that the most of the files we use are NOT previewed. Is it possible to use the standalone version with the filemaker pro server databases. Or are there other solutions to thumbnail - preview the .pdf .AI and .PSD files WE use ONLY OSX workstations and also the servers are OSX 10.6. my link is a test only for 2 hours (ofcourse) http://thuis.rnb-it.nl/SuperContainer
Smef Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Is it possible to use the standalone version with the filemaker pro server databases. Yes, you will need to do this if you want the pdf previews. Any of the deployment options can be used. I would recommend running the installer.jar again and removing the filemaker server deployment before running SuperContainerServer.jar and switching your web viewers and calculations over to use port 8020 for the new deployment.
