Checkout AfFiler from Afeina software http://www.afeina.com . It does just what you are describing.

I just purchased AfFiler and it works great. I print a status of projects book that is in 10 sections each on a septerate layout and then combined as a book. Prior to using AfFiler I had to pause each script and enter a pdf file name and print, not it can be done by clicking one button.
