Dallas ISD's Food & Child Nutrition Services division has a full-time job opening for a Filemaker developer. We provide support services to over 250 cafeterias in the Dallas school district. Many of our internal systems are built with Filemaker Pro. This position is a full-time programming position where you will both design/build new systems as well as support existing ones. All development is with Filemaker 11 Advanced running on a Win server.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provide database development and management for FileMaker Pro (familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server a plus).

2. Manage Analysts responsible for providing top-level technical support to schools.

3. Develop custom software applications as required by users’ needs and requirements to improve productivity.

4. Coordinate hardware maintenance and software upgrade processes.

5. Identify areas of concern, both data and workflow and develop and implement comprehensive resolutions.

6. Interact with users to enhance the various software packages used throughout the Food Services Department.

7. Ensure quality and accuracy of information provided through computer generated databases and reports.

8. Receive, interpret and transform data into information useful for reaching Food Services goals.

9. Keep abreast of current and emerging technical and professional trends and developments affecting assigned software and recommend modifications that will improve performance.

10. Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

11. All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

Qualification Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science degree preferred but not required)

- Eight years of related experience, including designing and modifying a variety of software applications based upon analysis of user requirements and programming experience

- Demonstrated background with software systems such as FileMaker, SQL Server and Application
