Newbies mccallister Posted October 1, 2001 Newbies Posted October 1, 2001 We have created a database of social studies questions in filemaker that allows teachers to search through and create their own custom tests. The application was started in Filemaker 4.0 for the mac, converted to 5 and then made into a runtime application. One of the layouts in this testbank is "user guide" which has instructions on how to use the application. The instructions are a couple of pages long and have been copied and pasted into editable text fields from pagemaker. While the text shows up fine on screen, I only get two blank pages when trying to print it out. This seems to happen on both the mac and pc platforms. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Reid McCallister
Newbies mccallister Posted October 2, 2001 Author Newbies Posted October 2, 2001 Hadn't thought to check but the "do not print selected objects" box is not checked. Thanks
Vaughan Posted October 2, 2001 Posted October 2, 2001 Is the layout longer than one page, or *wider* than the pag size?
Moon Posted October 2, 2001 Posted October 2, 2001 Is the Print Option for FileMaker set to "Records being browsed" or "Current record", or by chance did it get set to "Blank records, showing fields..."
Rigsby Posted October 2, 2001 Posted October 2, 2001 Dumb question, but have you checked under Format/Sliding-Printing if the fields are set to print?
Newbies mccallister Posted October 4, 2001 Author Newbies Posted October 4, 2001 Vaughan, the layout is less than 8.5 inches wide but runs longer than a page. One of the fields of text continues from page one to page two without a breaking. Moon, I have tried printing with three of the different print options--"current record," "records being browsed," and "blank record showing fields." All of the options have given me two blank pages. thanks, Reid McCallister
