Erm? What is FM printing?

This sounds like a driver/network/hardware problem:

I’ve got a problem with the following system.

A Filemaker solution calls up about 200 addresses. The user then selects a letter from a drop-down, which is then loaded into a global field in a Letter-Layout. A script then starts printing (print current found set): The layout is as follows:

(A merge field containing)

<Company Name1>

<Company Name2>

<Addressee>

<” “ > (This is just a return for spacing)

<Street>” “<House Number>

<ZIP>” “ <Town>

<” “ > (This is just a return for spacing)

<Country>

Ok, now comes a field <Letter_Text> with the text from the letter.

The idea of the merge field with the returns is that everything slides up nicely when printing, as some companies need 2 fields for the name and some only 1.

With this I have 2 problems:

The first is: Since we installed a new network printer, the field format, i.e. “align text – full” shows “full” but prints left.

The second is: Even with the old printer)Not always, but sometimes, FM leaves some of the address fields empty!

Any ideas???

This one’s got me stumped!
